Wii U three days away from launch in North America

People anxiously waiting for Nintendo?s Wii U only need to wait for a few more days as the next-generation console will be hitting the North American market in three days.

With the launch date set to be November 18, the first high-definition (HD) console by a company that has already launched a series of successful consoles and handheld devices in the past is all set to welcome the world to the age of next-generation systems.

Arriving in two versions, a $350 deluxe edition and a $300 basic edition, Wii U is expected to struggle to make much of an impact upon its launch and in the months to follow.

Industry analysts and some of the publishers are not too happy with the price tag that Nintendo has placed on its latest offering and are of the opinion that this decision will take its toll on the commercial performance of the console.

According to reports, most of the retailers in America have already run out of pre-order stock of Wii U, which indicates a massive demand for the console in the market.

This simply goes to show that the pricing decision taken by Nintendo is not as big an error as many analysts and publishers are trying to suggest.

Wii U may, however, find itself struggling to maintain sales and doing well throughout the holiday season as both Sony and PlayStation are expected to reduce the price of their current-generation consoles.

The third-party support for the upcoming Wii U is something that is likely to play a crucial role in the success of the console.

Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and a handful of other publishers have confirmed a handful of titles for the upcoming console. While the list is long, the most notable launch titles include Assassin?s Creed 3, Mass Effect 3: Special Edition and ZombiU.

Nintendo is introducing a tablet controller named GamePad for the console, while the more traditional Pro Controller will also be released for gamers who find it hard to adjust to the unique controller.

After making a strong impact in the market with Wii six years ago, Nintendo would be hoping to do the same with Wii U.
